Internships and Co-ops

How does the program work
Panama is an international business, banking, finance and logistics center for Latin America. Students will find in Panama many important multinational and national companies from which they can learn a great deal while doing their Internship or Co-op. We will help students to match their skills, knowledge and abilities with the needs of the company or organization. We count with a wide network of companies and international organizations interested in providing these internship and co-op opportunities to local and international students.

Not all of the internships and co-ops offered are paid, it varies depending of the company`s politics, however, we assure that they all provide students with the opportunity to learn from a world-class organization or a leading company. Having worked in a different country, in a different culture, with individuals of other nationalities, and in a multilingual environment is highly valued by employers around the world.

After the student has submitted his application and has been matched with a company that suits his/her interest, we will proceed to search for different housing options that will fit the student’s budget from centrally located apartments, Hotel rooms or dorm style accommodations. We will also organize different cultural immersion activities like visiting “Embera” an indigenous tribe and other activities depending on the student’s interests, budget and availability.

What companies can I intern in?
Multinationals: Proctor & Gamble, Copa Airlines, Cable and Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Dell Computers, Sab Miller “Cerveceria Nacional”, ACP “Unidos por el Canal”

NGOs: UNICEF, UNDP, WFP, FAO, UNEP, Red Cross, OAS, PAHO, WHO

Science and Research: Smithsonian, CATHALAC, SENACYT, ANAM

Schedules
The internships can be full-time (40-45 hours per week) or part-time (20-30 hours per week) which gives the students the option to take additional classes given in our University or Spanish classes to acquire better communication skills at work since some internships require basic knowledge of Spanish.
